TF Coaching
My passion is to support young children at their earliest involvement, and the foundation stage of their footballing journey.
Through the TF training philosophy, we aim to introduce and to develop the fundamental, individual skills required by the game, and demonstrated by the best players who play it.
For me this starts with ball mastery, ball control, and having the competence and confidence to know where and when to use it.

A Bit About Me
Your Football Coach
I’ve been a ‘coach’ since I was 17, working with primary school age children in a multi-sports capacity.
I did my first FA football coaching qualification back in 1999 and subsequent others along the way with my most recent update being in 2019.
I’ve gained experience coaching in both small & large groups settings having cut my teeth at the height of Coventry City’s community scheme roll out.
More recently I’ve amassed over 10 years experience working as a teacher for secondary school age children, teaching sport and physical education alongside and supporting both junior and post 16 FE football academies.

WHAT IS BALL MASTERY?
Ball Mastery is the controlled manipulation of the ball with both feet, through a series of push, pull, drag, roll and fake combinations. It's your personal relationship with the ball. Your technical competence directly affects your contribution to the team.
WHY IS BALL MASTERY IMPORTANT?
Mastering the ball helps unlock the next level of a players game.
Let me share a personal analogy I often use - riding a bike.
When we first learn to ride a bike, we focus on many different aspects. Peddling fast enough, getting our feet co-ordinated to push the bike forward, then place our foot on the peddle, all while keeping our balance and looking in front of us. For a child, learning the new skill is difficult because it requires co-ordinating all of these aspects.
This is the same with ball mastery. We have to learn to coordinate the different movements of both feet. Balance, agility, co-ordination. How we have to shift our feet quickly and touch the ball with the correct weight in order to move the ball with grace and finesse. It takes time and practice - but can be mastered at home.
BENEFITS OF BALL MASTERY!
Improved decision making
Improved confidence
Better team player
More balance.

Testimonials
Why we do what we do!

DB: ‘This has literally been the making of our son, he’s part of a football family that are completely dedicated to the improvement and confidence of every single player regardless of ability. They find positives and that is what childrens’ football is all about, we have seen him improve in the last 6 months beyond measure’.
FB

MH: ‘What I like most is that you can see the things he works on in training being used in his games. As a result of this training he has the freedom and confidence to to go out and express himself in his matches, and that comes from TF coaching’.
MH

NA: ‘I like that he’s learning that not all players have to be big and strong, and that you can not be as physically strong as the others so long as you have the confidence to develop and use the other technical side of the game, and at speed’.
